Wild-N-Edgy

With less than a week till launch we are gearing up to provide you with the best online GLBT shows.

Today we received a note from Brightcove, the company that serves our video as well as the advertisements on the videos. They offer pre-roll video ads to some of their clients who meet certain criteria. We believed we reached the criteria but were not receiving the advertisements. After over a month of communicated we were finally told that our content is too "wild-n-edgy" for national advertisers. FUCK YEAH!!! (flashing breasts in girls gone wild style) Our goal is to reach the largest gay/lesbian online audience possible and if it takes being wild-n-edgy then so be it.

Let this be a lesson to GLBT content providers considering Brightcove as your video service. Brightcove has an amazing video service that is very user friendly; but it is not the way for GLBT content providers to monetize their content.

Last night was Outfest closing night and we will have a video of that posted by the end of the week.

Just for fun today, we're posting the top 10 pre-launch videos. We are so excited to see the number of viewers we are getting. We are also excited to know which shows attract more viewers so that we can continue making the same type of programming in the future.

We are in the process of retooling our schedule. We are thinking of reducing the number of new streams to only three per week as we try to attract more viewers. Our launch week will still have the first episodes airing at their scheduled time; however, afterwords there will be a schedule posted which will list when future episodes will be released. Why are we doing this? We are hoping to lengthen our season right up to the holidays which will give us time to build our viewship and plan amazing new content for our Winter/Spring 2008 Season!!

June was a record breaking month. We had almost 8 times the amount of video plays we had in May.

Workin' Hard

Why the picture of hot guys on a boat? Just because.
OutliciousTV videos are blowin' up all over the web. So far this month we have had over 4800 views!!!

We're hoping to keep the pace next month as we launch our pre-launch coverage of the 25th Annual Outfest Film Festival. We are very excited. Coverage starts July 9th with a clip from the producer of the movie Shelter!

Pre-production is in full swing for I Love Dick! The cute sitcom style comedy will start script readings this Saturday (June 30th) and will go into production the following weekend!

The internet is still out at our main office. AAAHHH!!!

6 Weeks To Go

Just six weeks left until our official Launch!! We are working hard to get all of our programs ready on time. We are also starting to plan our launch party because no gay media channel could launch without a big party.
Our news team has been hard at work coming up with an attack plan for Outfest. There are 6 red carpet events over the eleven day festival. We are very excited. For more information on outfest including film guides and to buy tickets, visit www.outfest.org.
We made a change in the way videos load at OutliciousTV.com. We decided that the videos will now start playing automatically. We understand that there are those of you out there that are so indecisive and can not pick what video to watch. Well now you don't have to decide as the videos now play automatically. You can still continue to browse our other lineups as the video is playing.
Three episodes of Tell Veronica are complete which brings Tell Veronica's programming up through August 14th.
Just a reminder, Los Angeles Pride 2007 coverage will be up June 18th!

Let's Get Physical

The production date is set for Flab2Fab! On June 16th we will begin taping episodes of our outrageous new fitness show starring personal trainer to the stars, Ronnie Kerr.
OutliciousTV short, No Match Found is soon be shown on shaunboy.org. Through the power of the Brightcove network, we are able to syndicate our various programs to reach a wider audience then we could by ourselves. From a business standpoint, this is great news because we are able to tap into potential revenue markets that would have been impossible in the past.

We're Live!

Yay!! Our website has gone live. (see the preview shot above, thanks Jared) If you came here through www.outlicioustv.com you probably noticed you now have two choices at our homepage: the blog (you are reading) or our site. We're going to keep the two choices up there for awhile until we have more content up and running on the channel. Something tells me there will be a fun little preview up next week.

If you notice an strange issues happening with the site, please contact us. We tried to test the site in as many browser types as possible but I'm sure there will still be issues somewhere.

In the coming weeks you will notice a more robust control panel as well as working links for our list of shows. That's it for now. Oh, a quick shout out to our first European visitor from Ipswich, England. TTFN!

We're Worldwide!

Yes I know the picture is from Vegas, but it's still pretty.
This week we have started to get hits from China, Venezuela, Canada and the Netherlands Antilles. (I have a feeling the Chinese hits are just bots reading the site). Regardless, we are very happy to see new visitors.

Sad News: We had some casting gliches with the project we were supposed to shoot this weekend; however, it may all be fixed with someone even better coming in. I've also heard it is going to rain here in LA on Sunday so that would have messed up our schedule anyway. It never rains in LA this late in April!! We're going to spend our Sunday meeting with some prospective OutliciousTV personalities.

We're also going to look at some green screen equipment this weekend. We'll see how that goes. If everything goes right, we'll have our real website up and running by the end of the weekend.

We're Now On Brightcove

Last night, we finished encoding our two introductory shorts, No Match Found and Getting It Straight and we put them up on Brightcove. Brightcove will be hosting all of our video content. You can see our Brightcove channel HERE or goto http://www.brightcove.com/channel.jsp?channel=742773129 Once we launch the new OutliciousTV.com you will no long have to go to our Brightcove channel as it will be integrated into our website bringing you simply an Outlicious internet experience.

Just Another Wednesday

Hey Everyone!! We're busy putting the network together and have started encoding some OutliciousTV short films for our channel (No Match Found and Getting It Straight). Right now they are both to your right and hosted by You Tube; however, most of our new video content will be hosted on Brightcove. Brightcove offers an amazing video hosting service that brings you higher quality video than those other guys. They also increase our revenue potential and allow us to organize our content better. A sample of the Brightcove offerings will be posted when we launch our site soon!!

The News Department is currently working on a few outstanding personalities to interview. We're also hoping to interview some people to join our on-air team. That's it for now!
